Brief History

Chin Christian Fellowship of Canada (CCFC) was founded on September 3, 2006, by delegates from all Chin churches in Canada. The organization is also tasked to select leaders to organize the Chin Christian communities across Canada and hold leadership training, conferences, and share news so that all the Chin living in Canada can live better in Christian union. CCFC also proposes that all membership churches contribute financial assistance to the family of all Chin individuals who die in Canada. The organization is legally registered under the government of Canada as a non-charitable organization. All staff members working in CCFC are unpaid volunteers. This is a church-based voluntary organization working to provide Christian service to Chin people in Canada. Chin Christian Fellowship of Canada maintains a good relationship with Vision Ministries of Canada (VMC).

Mission And Vision

As a non-profit charitable organization working to provide Christian services to Chin people living in Canada, CCFC volunteers put their effort to the best of their ability to help the Chin community in Canada.  Volunteer services in this organization included organizing leadership training, bi-annual conferences, youth camps and other events which CCFC believes will promote Christian awareness among the Chin society in Canada. All staff and volunteers working in CCFC are not paid. CCFC believes that by holding leadership training and conferences for the Chin society, many younger generations could learn and walk hand in hand together with our Canadian friends in all sectors.
The
Chin Christian Fellowship of Canada have the following mission and vision;

1. To organize annually or biannually a gathering for all Chin people living in Canada so that we could physically participate, debate, converse and walk together to integrate into a multicultural Canadian society.

2. To promote Christian values among our younger generation lest they fall into a negative perception about Christianity as we are integrating into a diverse society where they can be engulfed anytime by social deviance.

3. To build a relationship between different denominations by holding conferences, training, retreats for all church ministers, youth camps, outreach missions and pulpit exchange in which each minister switches Sunday Service preaching at their respective church once a year among CCFC ministers.

Structure and Functions

All staff members are elected biannually in the CCFC conference by the delegates from all membership churches. Five executive members are elected by delegates, and simultaneously, the Executive Director, General Secretary and Treasurer are elected by delegates, while the other two members are given positions among the executive board for a years working term.  Women and youth department staff are automatically included in their respective departments through the local election result, but the president, secretary and treasurer are elected by delegates. The bi-annual or tri-annual conference is the final decision maker in all matters related to Chin Christian Fellowship of Canada, especially in drafting/amending/adding rules and regulations for the organization.
